About Shelby Drouant

Shelby is an attorney dedicated to advocating for individuals who have been injured. She approaches each case with a client-focused mindset and a practical understanding of how claims are evaluated, litigated, and resolved.

Shelby is known for her meticulous legal research and writing, and attention to detail. She is deeply involved in all stages of litigation, from case development through resolution, and is committed to clear client communication and thoughtful advocacy.

Before joining Mansfield Melancon, Shelby represented corporate and industrial defendants in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana. This background provides valuable insight into defense strategy and insurer decision-making, which she now uses to build strong, well-prepared cases for her clients.

Shelby earned her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center in 2023 and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northwestern State University in 2019. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. 

Outside of her practice, Shelby serves as a member of the Northwestern State University Alumni Association Board of Directors, and on the Board of Directors for the Billy D. Foundation, which supports St. Michael’s Special School in New Orleans. Shelby also enjoys New Orleans life, including biking through City Park, attending local festivals, and spending time with her husband and family.
