Linnea joined the family law division of Mansfield Melancon after practicing with a firm in Denham Springs.  Linnea’s decision to join Mansfield Melancon was driven by the firm’s vision and goal to protect a client’s best interest as he or she navigates through the complex world of divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and other family law matters.

Linnea graduated from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center.  While in law school, Linnea competed on trial advocacy competition teams.  During her second year, Linnea was a finalist in the school-wide Opening Statement Competition.  For two semesters, Linnea was a judicial intern for the Honorable Pamela J. Baker of the East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court.  She was also an Executive Board member of the Women’s Law Student Association.

Prior to attending law school, Linnea was an elementary school teacher for nine years, most recently teaching students in the Gifted and Talented Program in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. During her teaching tenure, Linnea held many leadership roles where she advocated for her students and other teachers.  These unique experiences have helped her appreciate the emotional situations that her clients often face when litigating family law matters and keep her keenly focused on the best interest of the child.

Linnea is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State Courts and in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.  In her spare time, Linnea enjoys her role as float lieutenant in the female Krewe of Artemis, and she participates in charitable activities.  She also enjoys rooting for the LSU Tigers and the Saints, tailgating, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her dog Sammy.
